Cody is the new Marley......

In case you haven't read the book Marley and Me it is a book that tells the story of life with Marley, a very destructive lab. As I was reading the book I had to laugh because I was currently living the author's life with my new lab Cody.

Cody is now 17 months old and still very much a puppy. And still very very destructive. I thought that he had finally stopped being so destructive......but I was sooooo very wrong. Here is what Ashley came home to today.....

This would be what is left of my couch.

Here is one of the throw pillows from my couch.

And here are the magazines and newspapers that were sitting so neatly on the bottom shelf of the entry way table. If you look real close you can see a throw rug on the carpet...that's because he destroyed the carpet right there and we haven't fixed it yet.

When Ashley sent me these pictures I couldn't do anything but laugh.....yes, I have completely lost it. I had just convinced DH to get new furniture for Christmas too. Now we really need it but how can I justify the money if Cody is just going to tear it up? Sorry Cody....but looks like it is time to put up a gate and block you from anything you might be able to destroy when no one is home.

Kyrah's latest talent......

Yes.....Kyrah has learned that she can stick a pencil up her nose and it will stay. If you look you can see that her hand isn't holding the pencil. Now that is quite a talent that my niece has, not that I'm being biased or anything.

I fought it for so long but I guess everyone is right.....she does look like her father. LOL!!!

It's amazing that I still have a car.

Friday night was another evening spent at Lancer stadium watching my son play football. It was an exciting night....not only because my son was playing but also because it was the head coach's last game after coaching for 43 years! He is the last original faculty member from when Cordova High opened in 1964...wow!

Anyways.....the game was awesome but the weather was cold. I have never wanted a game to end so badly....my toes were frozen! Cordova won....41-0. Unfortunately it wasn't a great season for the Lancers...they went 5 & 5 and didn't make the playoffs. I am hoping that next season is the one that takes them back to the playoffs....especially since it will be my son's senior year....but we will have a new coach and it might take a while to rebuild the team.

So after the game was over we start heading out to the car.....DH starts digging around in his pockets for the keys. He asks me if I have them.....ummmm, no, you drove. He starts getting panicky because he can't find them. I am actually unbelievably calm...although I am trying to figure out who is going to walk the 2 miles or so back to the house to get the extra set of keys.

We finally get to the car and what do we find? The car keys sitting on the roof of the car.....in the middle of a full parking lot. OMG honey......WTH are my keys doing on the roof of the car? He put them up there and opened the car door to get his coat out and just closed the door and walked off. How does this happen? We always lock the car....wouldn't he wonder where the keys are after he closes the door and tries to lock the car? Nope...because he didn't think about locking the car, just about getting his coat on because it was cold. It is amazing that my car was still there. The only thing that I can think of is that the keys are dark, my car is dark green and the parking lot wasn't brightly lit up so either no one noticed them or if someone did they just left them there for us to find.

There is never a dull moment in my life.

Wahoooo....just won Sea World tickets.

Looks like we will be heading to San Diego Sea World....wahoooo! The country radio station here is having a contest...Hotel KNCI......and if you happen to be the right caller you get to pick a room. As long as no one else has already chosen that room you get to "check in" and win the prize in that room. The prizes range from janitor's closet of cleaning supplies to tickets to Maui.

I would have loved the tickets to Maui but this is about the next best thing. The package includes a family 4 pack of tickets to Sea World and 2 nights hotel accomodations. It just doesn't include airfare but luckily we live in Sacramento and can drive to San Diego....it will take about 8 hours but that's ok.

I'm pretty excited to go....I've never been to Sea World. I told DH about the prize (he's currently in Vegas for work) and he was pretty excited too. We thought about going for Thanksgiving but I think we might go in December when the park is all decorated for Christmas.

I can't wait.....I'm like a little kid : )
