Wahoooooo....it's football season again. I don't think that there is anything I enjoy more than watching one of my kids perform, whether it's in sports, dance or drama. As one sport ends I anxiously await the next one beginning. Luckily my son participates in football, baseball and basketball so there is never too long of a wait....and sometimes I am lucky enough to be able to fill the void with my daughter's dance competitions/recitals.....she is such a great dancer and totally has the build for it. I sure wish I had gotten her into it at a lot younger age.
I have been going to one or another of my children's activities since my oldest was 7.....that's 15 years now! I enjoy it so much that I am dreading the day when it is all over, but maybe I will be lucky enough to have grandchildren or nieces/nephews that are just as involved in extracurricular activities as my children have been.
So as baseball ended one month ago it is time to begin the football season. My son is a junior in high school this year so that means he is on the Varsity team...wahooooo! The varsity team gets all the glory...the cheering fans, the press write ups and marching into the stadium being lead by the marching band. I get chills just thinking about it! I am such a big sports fan anyways that when you add one of my children to the mix it is just pure heaven!
Here's hoping that the Lancers have a great season and that my son stays healthy enough to be able to participate for the whole season. :::knock on wood:::
Go Lancers!!!
Wahoooooo......it's going to be an exciting season. I will hopefully be blogging about the thrill of victory and the other teams agony of defeat for the next couple of months. : )
